Bannon Out At White House; Was He Fired Or Did He Resign? (REACTION)

Steve Bannon is out as the White House Chief Strategist according to reports from across several different media outlets. Most reports are consistent that he resigned two weeks ago and that his resignation was effective as of August 14th, 2017. Which marks one year to the day that he was formally introduced into the Trump campaign and staff. Rumors had long been circulating that Bannon’s firing was imminent. Anthony Scaramucci, the former White House Communications Director, appeared on Stephen Colbert’s late-night talk show to discuss Bannon and others. During the interview, he confirmed that he thought both Reince Priebus and Steve Bannon were leaking information from the White House to the press.

A recent, and very reckless, interview that has surfaced between Steven Bannon and left-leaning reporter Robert Kuttner seems to confirm the allegations of leaking. Bannon has come out to say that he thought the interview was off-the-record, even though he contacted the reporter himself to have said interview.

Much of the left, especially the political left, see Bannon’s departure as one long overdue because of his affiliation with the “alt-right” that they label as racist and hateful. The tragedy that unfolded in Charlottesville, Virginia has intensified this label against the alt-right, since many of them were either rumored or confirmed to be at the rally to protest against the removal of Robert E. Lee’s statue. Some on the right see Bannon’s firing as acquiescing to the left who constantly decry Trump and his administration as racist and ethno-nationalist. At the end of the day, it’s difficult to tell what’s really the truth. Bannon is a good friend to Trump but may have not been good at his role in the White House. Bannon may have resigned under his own power sans any pressure from inside or outside the administration for a variety of reasons.

Constant firings from Trump’s administration could signal chaos in the White House or a sense of seriousness and accountability. Get good people in and remove underperformers and/or bad people to keep the nation running efficiently like a business. Which is one thing that Trump is known for being good at.
